Commencement Day is a long-honored tradition at Ole Miss. The program on the Ole Miss Commencement Day involves five major segments:

Part One
• Oxford Campus graduates reader cards are available Thursday, May 3 through Friday, May 11 between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. in Holman 252. Students who qualify for a Latin honors designation will pick up their honor's chord when picking up their reader card. Reader cards are available for regional campus graduates at the Coliseum prior to the 11:00 a.m. ceremony.
• Pick up your cap and gown Tuesday, May 8, Wednesday, May 9, Friday, May 11 between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m and Thursday, May 10 between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., C.M. "Tad" Smith Coliseum. Caps and Gowns may also be picked up on Graduation Day (May 12) between 7:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. at the Bookstore parking lot at the Jackson Avenue Center.

Part Two
The Morning Exercise in the Grove is ceremonial, and all graduates of the University participate. Graduates from each school sit together, and at the appropriate moment, they rise and are presented by the school's Dean to the Chancellor of the University. The Provost confers the degrees en masse. Individual diplomas are not given at this time.

Seating for guests in the Morning Exercise is not limited. The important note is that diplomas are not awarded at the Morning Exercise in the Grove.

Part Three
The School of Business ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m. following the morning program in the Grove. This ceremony takes place in the C.M. "Tad" Smith Coliseum. Please arrive no later than 10:30 a.m. There is no limit to the number of guests a graduate may invite to the Ceremony in the Coliseum.

Part Four
The 11:00 a.m. exercise in the Coliseum features short speeches by the Dean of the School of Business, President of the MBA Class, and the Class Marshal of the Undergraduate Class. Your attendance is encouraged.

Part Five
Regalia will be returned at the loading dock of the Coliseum at the conclusion of the 11:00 a.m. exercise.


Guests with Disabilities
There is a reserved and accessible seating section available for individuals with disabilities in the Grove and Coliseum on Commencement Day. ADA seating in the Coliseum is available in section N, O, and P. ADA parking is available in the Pavilion Parking Garage.

Transportation and Parking

Commencement Photographs

A professional photographer will be at the Coliseum Ceremony to take photos of students as they receive their diploma cover. Students will have the opportunity to purchase individual photos for family and friends at a later date.


School of Business Administration Commencement (May 12, 2018)

Proper Academic Regalia is required for both ceremonies
Attendance at both ceremonies is expected

9:00 a.m. University-Wide Grove Exercise

Report to the Grove no later than 8:30 a.m. to be seated. All graduates are to be seated in the designated location for the School of Business Administration.

There is no formal recessional at the conclusion of the 9:00 a.m. ceremony.

11:00 a.m. School of Business Administration Exercise in C.M. "Tad" Smith Coliseum

Candidates for the School of Business (both baccalaureate and MBA's) will be seated on the floor of the coliseum immediately following the 9:00 a.m. ceremony and arrive no later than 10:30 a.m.

Undergraduate candidates whose last name begins with

A—L should report to Portal 9 to proceed to the floor of the Coliseum. Please be seated in the section that corresponds with the first letter of your last name.

Undergraduate candidates whose last name begins with

M—Z should report to Portal 3 to proceed to the floor of the Coliseum. Please be seated in the section that corresponds with the first letter of your last name.

Candidates for the MBA should report to Portal 3 to proceed to the floor of the Coliseum. Please be seated in the section that corresponds with the first letter of your last name.

Please note that family and friends of graduates are NOT allowed on the floor of the Coliseum. This includes prior to, during, and after the ceremony.

Bring your reader's card to the 11:00 a.m. ceremony. Present the card to the person assisting the reader. Your name will be announced according to the information on the card. Candidates must be seated on the floor by 10:45 a.m. in order to participate in the commencement exercises. The ceremony will begin promptly at 11:00 a.m.


Message From The Dean


Dear Graduate,

Commencement exercises for all graduates are on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. in the Grove. Business students should arrive dressed in proper academic regalia at 8:30 a.m and be seated in the School of Business section.

A separate ceremony for business students will begin promptly at 11:00 a.m. in the Coliseum. You should arrive at the Coliseum in proper academic regalia immediately following the 9:00 a.m. ceremony in the Grove and no later than 10:30 a.m. Diploma covers will be presented to students earning the baccalaureate and master's degree. There is no limit on the number of guests.

It is especially important for you to pick up your reader's card in Holman 252 starting on Thursday, May 3 and ending with Friday, May 11. There is no formal recessional at the end of the ceremony.

In order for you to receive your commencement photograph, please include on the back of your reader's card a valid email address. The reader's card is required for participation in the 11:00 a.m. ceremony.
